I admit my consumption of wine and/or bourbon may have limited my ability to comprehend that joke at the time, but I get it now | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 (Buffalo) Moderator | (Buffalo) Moderator Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 | So a question about the D&D Beyond PC Creation thingie. I use Roll20 as the repository for the most up to date version of my pc as well as doing all of my spell casting, distance and AOE measurements, attack and initiative rolls, and getting a tactical map view. Are we saying that once we put our pcs into D&D Beyond I will need to maintain it in both Roll20 and D&D Beyond as I won't have any map or measurements in Beyond so will still need to continue to use Roll20 I believe? | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 18,012 Likes: 2 Moderator | OP Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 18,012 Likes: 2 | Zeim, The import is from DnDBeyond into Roll20 or Forge-VTT. So start using DnDBeyond as the repository you work from. You can roll from DnDBeyond into Roll20 too. Once you create your PC in DnDBeyond I'll get together with you to show you how it works. It's a cool tool.

I've read great things about ForgeVTT. For now, though, I really just want one place to go to see everyone's character sheets. I'm OK if there's an auto-updated Roll20 pdf link that can get generated... is there? And I'll repeat, there's no rush on this. This is just an old fart trying to learn as he goes and asking for some help making it easier to find info. | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 (Buffalo) Moderator | (Buffalo) Moderator Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 | We do use ForgeVTT in our long time "FTF" game. It is nice and since it links to D&D Beyond it would resolve the issue of using multiple tools to see a map, see a pc sheet, roll spells and attacks, and measure distance. Of course we use ForgeVTT together as a real time virtual game so I am not certain whether players have access to the maps and can take actions asynchronously without the DM present.
You can see Zhu's updated sheet on Roll20. As DM you should have access to all the pcs there. I do not know if a download to pdf is possible. Just need to get that current export uploaded to here and I'd be happy. | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 (Buffalo) Moderator | (Buffalo) Moderator Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 Maris Imperium Member | Maris Imperium Member Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 | I don't think your current HP is 0. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 18,012 Likes: 2 Moderator | OP Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 18,012 Likes: 2 | Zeim, the same hooks used by Forge are used in Roll20 and Forge locks the map when the DM is gone, as you say.

Odd. Anyway, I fixed it and reupdated. Let me know if its better. | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 (Buffalo) Moderator | (Buffalo) Moderator Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 | Yeah, having the map locked is a problem. We play asynchronously here and I (as a player) would need access to the map to do measurements, move my pc, cast spells and do other things without the DM present. | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 Maris Imperium Member | Maris Imperium Member Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 Maris Imperium Member | Maris Imperium Member Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 | Yeah, having the map locked is a problem. Looks like there are add-ons that allow un-pausing on various triggers that might fit the bill? I maintain an AWS server for fun and could easily self-host something on there. | | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 (Buffalo) Moderator | (Buffalo) Moderator Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 22,222 Likes: 9 | Always worth looking into new things...... | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 27,621 Moderator | Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 27,621 | For the sake of completeness, Expeditious Retreat is also a concentration spell. | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 15,166 Likes: 11 Chaotic Obfuscator Moderator | Chaotic Obfuscator Moderator Joined: May 2009 Posts: 15,166 Likes: 11 | The DICE GODS are kind!
Thank you for the option.
Sindar has 45 HP according to his sheet. Double check things, I believe that is at 6th level. Not sure I made him 7th yet. | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 Maris Imperium Member | Maris Imperium Member Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 | Yes, going back to my kind request earlier. | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 Maris Imperium Member | Maris Imperium Member Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 10,481 Likes: 13 | Ooh, I gotta get me some of these dice! | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 27,621 Moderator | Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 27,621 | Roll20 seems to have erased both her HPs and AC in its last upgrade. I haven't looked yet but I may need some of that to create an Eladrin Elf. | | |
