Yes I know this is not a new game.. but it is new to me! grin I generally buy big computer games several years after they come out. Main advantages that you can get a 'bundle' including DLCs at a good value for money price but the main advantage for me is that there is now so much help available! I hate getting stuck! smile

I know this won't apply to all of you but maybe some of you will sympathise? I first touched a computer when I was 32 and have never been that into computers to develop keyboard skills plus at my age my reactions are not usually up to par. grin So to find games (RPG style) that I am capable of playing and enjoying is fairly rare.

This one is a gem!

Beautiful setting, rich in culture, after the apocalypse/back to stone-age tribal, has a large number of difficulty levels including 'story' mode which is perfect for me - enough challenge but possible. smile

Other games I have loved: DragonAge, Witcher 3 and Skyrim.

Anyone else played Horizon Zero Dawn? smile

I've heard it's a fantastic game, though like you, I generally wait for a bundle to buy. New releases can be really overpriced even before you add on the inevitable DLCs that get released.

I didn't realise it had significant RPG elements though. Does it have choices like Dragon Age does?

It is open world style, lots of different types of quests as well as main quests, things to collect, experience to gain and a total sense of progression. And the main character has choices to make when talking to people. I don't think the choices have as much impact as in Dragonage, not far enough in to be able to tell. In style it reminds me of Witcher 3 though background and story are different. smile

I picked up the game last year and played it through. At first I was kind of skeptical killing robotic animals with a bow and arrow, but the game designers made it believable that in the end I found I enjoyed it more for the story than anything else. There was a few boss fights that I initially had problems with, but as you mentioned there is enough youtube videos and game forums to help you through the whole game.
