I decided to 'share' some of my 'observations' about really bad movie moments. I hope you will comment and maybe share some of your favorite 'to hate' moments as well.

I am going to start with a few 'generalities' that I have seen in =too= many movies:

* Why do 'they' =NOT= shoot at the tires on the vehicles that they are trying to stop?? OK ... I just saw a movie where they =did= actually target the tire of the chasing car!! <g> But it =DOES= seem to be the exception <wink>

* Why are there so many 'chases' with 'cycles' goinf afrer cars?? It is =way= too easy for a car to 'take out' a 'cycle' <shrug>

* Why are so many people so polite when some A$$ Hole is pointing a gun at them?

Join in the fun! (or tell me there is no interest) I am good either way.

In Fight 1 the villain wins easily. Fight 2, where nothing has really changed, the hero wins, easily.

You mean when like scientists say a virus is deadly but nobody believes them and refuses to do anything about it until a lot of people die??

OK ... a few more:

* Just once, I would like to see the 'good guys' just avoid the 'bad guys' in a simple 'encounter' <sigh>

* Who in their right mind would have the locks on their interior doors to lock people =in= the room ... not out??

* I have seen it so many times!! Why do all the 'chattle' decide to stand and die ... instead of 'bailing' and maybe living??

Was flipping channels and came across a move from 2006 Fatal Contact: Bird Flu

Kinda scary the similarities with the current situation. Not the same obviously, but certainly tons of vibes.

Many moments of "WTF"

Yeah, there was a movie I recently watched where the 'bad guys' were threatening to 'unleash' something like that. Kinda scary how 'life' is imitating 'art' :-/ Hope it doesn't continue!!!!

Well ... to some extent ... it =is= happening. How many movies have there been with a 'virus' ... or what ever ... that is threatening to 'kill us all' <sigh> Unfortunately ... Covid doesn't seem to 'scare' the populace so much. I can only hope that they are right.

I have known too many people this one killed. One person is too many, but when you get up around a half dozen, that is just plain ridiculous. I don't have that big a circle of friends. I won't get into the why, too much BS.

Back to the point of the thread though... My wife loves disaster movies.

Contagion, and so many of that ilk.

If your hazard suit is making a ripping sound? Um stop moving? Duh!

If you are playing with needles, be um careful? Duh. grin

So I was just re-watching Space Sweepers and in the opening they talk about the 'lucky few' got to leave earth while the 'less connected' were left behind. It occurred to me that an =awesome= twist of this movie would be that 'those left behind' ... with out the 'corrupt' 'leaders' were able to 'solve the problems' and create a prosperous and 'decent' place for people to live <g>

ENDGAME

"We have to get the Infinity Stones from the past and return them without any changes being made, otherwise..." <dramatic music> "Bad Things will happen.

<TONS of changes to the Time-line>

<everyone is okay with that and doesn't say anything>

Ugh, so many issues with that movie. I guess it wasn't meant to be a pinnacle of good storytelling, but I enjoyed Infinity War so much more.

Ummm ... I get that those with the stones can see what they did, but ... just curious ... if the time line changed, how would 'the rest of them' know?? <weg>

Mike, at one point they were worrying about creating multiple time lines... and then Cap stays in the past, and winds up in the main timeline, so go figure.

Yeah, and imagine the world. It's been like 5 years since half the people vanished. Everyone has adjusted (to whatever extent possible). The economy, jobs, housing, food. Everything has settled down to accommodate 50% of the population.

Now, with a snap, the world's population doubles overnight. The expected result? Mass starvation, mass unemployment, mass homelessness, riots, war, complete chaos.

Well I assume some of that 50% that got returned is probably cut down by people suddenly falling out of the sky or drowning in the ocean or getting hit by cars as they return exactly where they disappeared.

That cute little bit with the marching band in Spiderman really hides the horror of being resurrected, only to find that the plane you were on isn't there anymore.

I think the bit with Spiderman shows that people were brought back safely from wherever they disappeared from not necessarily where they were when they were snapped. Otherwise Peter Parker would still be somewhere out in space.

Didn't he return on Titan and then was transported by Dr. Strange to the final battle?
