Seyja stood with her weapon poised, her head moving slowly right and left, doing her best to spot any movement with her peripheral vision. She wanted to move on ahead, to find and attack the great wyrm immediately, but she knew what the others said made more sense.
But she did not have to like it. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 78,307 Likes: 67 Wizop Administrator | Wizop Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 78,307 Likes: 67 | Tindarien
He is torn. It goes against the grain to abandon a friend in their time of need and he has to fight the urge to turn and head back in the direction of that booming voice. But wouldn't he also be deserting his companions if he left alone. And he doesn't fool himself into thinking that success would be likely either. Although it is difficult to swallow, he can only hope that Nestaron will survive until morning.. and he has survived much up to now. It may even aid them to have him as an 'insider'. He just hopes they are not too late tomorrow.
Nestaron is smart though. Hopefully he will play for time, the need to rest before curing, that sort of thing. He wishes his friend well as he stares out into the darkness up the wooded slopes. He also marks the direction of that booming voice as best he can. Might give them something to aim for in the morning, though the halfling may know more of course. Local knowledge is always useful.
With a drop in his shoulders indicating his acceptance that tonight they need to recuperate, he turns back to face the others.
Once the others are across he calls to the halfling.
"Friend, do I bring the rope or leave it here for the morrow?" | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,164 Likes: 10 Wobbly Headed Administrator | OP Wobbly Headed Administrator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 13,164 Likes: 10 | GMThe halfing hissed at Tindarien to leave the rope bridge. It was useful only to them, the dragon didn't need it, and neither did the halfling need the rope apparently. And the high elf was right insomuch as they'd need the rope bridge tomorrow, to recover the rest of their gear from the cave. They'd taken only the essentials, hurrying to find shelter from a huge flying dragon. It was that shelter that they now sought. [End of session 3. Go to HHE10: Bearkiller] | | |
