Hi Muddy, I am hoping that these 'dual' threads will wind up fairly soon? I stepped in to help out with the 'other' main thread in the game and no find I am having to post on four threads, two was enough. Thanks!

The ‘heading to the gate threads’ (The Hour of the Wolf threads for both ships) are left open purely for player use in the event that you wanted to do more character things (either collectively or solo), train, talk to other characters, explore the ships you are on etc so they are open for only as long as you want them to be.

Each of these older threads has one main ‘side quest’ that you can engage with or leave that is related to the main story (in a small way) and can if pursued bring their own rewards in terms of learning new skills, new information or even finding useful items for your character. So for Jaxon his ‘side quest’ is the trial of this nobleman he has had thrust upon him with Sasha – you can decline or continue with this, entirely your choice but each will have its own outcome.

If you want to finish with these threads as a character absolutely fine you just need to surmise how it ends for your character in that setting and the outcome your character is aiming for – note however it could end things for anyone else involved as well. You will recall that in the FTF sessions we tended to agree that players were doing named ‘stuff’ during the journey to the gate unless they had something specific in mind and we then moved to ‘a week or so later’, this is very much the same if everyone is happy with that approach.

These threads are however proactive not reactive, if you want to do things, try things or talk to people etc the initiative is on the character to do this and I’ll provide an appropriate response – think of it a bit like going to a murder mystery evening (which is sort of what I had in mind to begin with).

Well ... the things =my= character has to do require GM interaction. I have been trying to 'ascertain' what happened to the ship's systems and how to 'recover' from the 'sabotage' <shrug>

I will persevere for now but do me a favour please. Having 2 characters and two different timelines, it is easy to get confused.. for me anyway! Let me know if I do something stupid. Ta

I was there some years ago ... well not the 'heavy weather' part that you are enduring. But a 'crew' of ambitious 'coons decided that they wanted my attic for a home and so 'ate' through a corner of the roof to get in. So I had issues every time it rained ... until I ... finally! ... figured out what happened :-/ Managed to trap and relocate them =way= far away from my house <weg>

I believe that you embed a youtube video ... another possibility is to include a link to a web site, but the user would have to 'click the link' and be taken to that site.

utube is the easiest way. Once you have the url for the particular video, embed it in this:

[video:youtube]url[/video with this ] at the end

This might be a little clearer <g>

Not sure you have heard but Exeter has passed away. I only stepped into his thread to keep it going after Nicky died. Unless you can recruit someone to play Sasha, I cannot see any point in continuing their thread. Maybe time to close it? Gives us both more time.

Thank you Gypsy I’m just catching up on this now, I’ve not been online much recently as I may have to start looking for a new job in the next year.

I am properly saddened to hear this news; I’ve enjoyed both playing with and running for Exeter in our time together and from what I know of him and saw in his posts he was a thoroughly decent person with a great imagination. He did a great job jumping in to Nicky’s former role for which I will always be grateful.

Its another sad day for our community.

Under the circumstances unless someone or one of the existing players has a burning desire to take over the role, I’m sadly inclined to agree with you which is a shame because we were approaching a point when the two groups could potentially meet.
I will close off the Jaxon / Sasha thread accordingly, if you feel at some point you want to continue this or someone new wants in, we can always revisit this then.
