He is listed with an alignment of LE, but his Draconic Ancestry is listed as Gold Dragon? Wouldn't Red Dragon be a better fit? It gives the exact same effect on abilities and powers as Gold Dragon. Just wondering. Full dragons are colour coded for your convenience. Dragonborn are not. Anyone making a presumption about Kriv based on the colour of his scales rather than the content of his character, caveat emptor. Ironically, both the normally-LG Gold Dragon and the normally-CE Red Dragon are equidistant from the LE noble scion on the alignment grid in any case. Downtime activitiesKriv would definitely lean towards research, training, and crafting magic items. Possibly a profession as a scholar or historian. Big on self-improvement, not overly religious, disdainful of unlawful pursuits or laziness. Enchanting his maul or crafting a magical one would be a priority. Character sheet omissionsI'm not seeing Kriv's longbow or his dungeoneering gear, nor his noble accoutrements and accessories, or his trinket spider. Also, do we need the full list of fighting styles as opposed to just Great Weapon Fighting? | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,950 Likes: 1 Moderator | OP Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,950 Likes: 1 | I will make necessary adjustments to the sheet. As for downtime activities, all require time and money. "Research" is in the PHB and shared as part of the SRD: RESEARCHING The time between adventures is a great chance to perform research, gaining insight into mysteries that have unfurled over the course of the campaign.
Research can include poring over dusty tomes and crumbling scrolls in a library or buying drinks for the locals to pry rumors and gossip from their lips.
When you begin your research, the DM determines whether the information is available, how many days of downtime it will take to find it, and whether there are any restrictions on your research (such as needing to seek out a specific individual, tome. or location). The DM might also require you to make one or more ability checks. such as an Intelligence (Investigation) check to find clues pointing toward the information you seek or a Charisma (Persuasion) check to secure someone's aid. Once those conditions are met, you learn the information if it is available.
For each day of research. you must spend 1 gp to cover your expenses. This cost is in addition to your normal lifestyle expenses (as discussed in chapter 5). Dugan asked me about language. That requires 250 days and 1 gp per day. I offered a non-binary solution, learning a language well enough to understand and communicate "some". Meaning with 100 days of training, there's a 40% chance of success in understanding or being understood. Failure means the evil DM gets to have fun with misunderstandings

Good is a matter of perspective. Your enemy is always evil. For instance, is slavery evil? Way back when, I started a game called "Black-White-Gray" where there was a Good camp, a Neutral Camp and an Evil camp. Players were to join one of the three. Some of you signed up for that game. As we were setting up the game, a player that opted to be in the "Good" camp wanted to own slaves. In my opinion that was "evil", but that was my opinion.

- Craft a non-magical item (PHB)
- Practice a profession - earn some gold (PHB)
- Recuperate - if you were ill or wounded (PHB)
- Research - Dig deep into scrolls of lore (PHB)
- Training - Learn a language or how to use a set of tools (PHB)
- Buy magic item - spend your gold (homebrew)
- Carouse - Have fun, meet people. There are consequences.(DMG)
- Commit crime - Easy gold ... unless you get caught. (homebrew)
- Gamble - Easy come, easy go? (homebrew)
- Pit Fighting - Earn some gold, get hurt (homebrew)
- Running a business - Some make it, some fail (DMG)
- Sowing Rumors - sway public opinion, make someone look good or bad (DMG)
- Training to go up levels - This is mandatory 4 times in your career. (DMG/Homebrew)
- Relax - Chillaxing (homebrew)
- Religious service - Gain the favor of a church (homebrew)
- Sell a magic item - find someone to take it off your hands (DMG)
- Craft magic item - Expensive and time consuming (DMG)
- Gaining Renown - Make a name for yourself within your faction (DMG)
- Scribe a spell scroll Expensive and time consuming (homebrew)
- Something else ... lets discuss
I'm going to work with the "official" stuff in the PHB and DMG (which you all have access to) and some homebrew options, including a tempering of the details (as outlined above). Also, I'm using a nice Homebrew Downtime Activities publication for inspiration but there's stuff that would be tweaked. Dugan, take note. There are some more items here than what I posted for you.

Are they feasible in the timeframe with our current resources? | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,950 Likes: 1 Moderator | OP Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,950 Likes: 1 | Each are different. The "links" for the DMG and PHB are in Roll20 for use in our game.
You'll note that the homebrew document changes some of the details. You have 5 months. "Training to level up" is mandatory, as stated above and before. You are training for levels 6-10 now.

Do any of the three have something that you think would attract Bern more than the others?

Could tie neatly into Research into the Forge of Spells as well. Adding in Training, then top up with money-positive Practicing a Profession, in the employ of either the LA or Norixius Keep, should round out the time. | | | | Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,950 Likes: 1 Moderator | OP Moderator Joined: May 2000 Posts: 17,950 Likes: 1 | Just a quick wave from Israel. As I suspected, the Internet here is terrific but we've got close to zero down-time. As Zeim alluded to in the *** Members Availability *** thread, I am famous for the insane itineraries that I put together. My cousin here saw the itinerary and used that exact word "insane" and also said "impossible" when he saw it. We logged apx. 50,000 steps in 3 days in 95F/35C heat. My posting rate is as slow as I suspected it would be.
