I had a friend ask for help opening a file. The current 'extension' is '.att', but he says he remembers it as a '.dwg' file. I tried a few of the 'options' that I found 'on line' with no joy. Was wondering if anyone here had an idea.

TIA

Does your friend know what's supposedly in the file? That will give us a crucial clue.

Mike,

Sorry, but I forgot what I have to do to move a thread from the main forum to a sub-forum.

No worries. If you go into the 'sub forum' you want to move, there should be a link near the top 'Thread Tools'. That opens a drop down list. It should include (among other options) 'Move/Merge Threads'. Click on that. The 'top' option is 'Move Thread'. It has a 'drop down' arrow. Click on the 'down arrow' and it will bring up a list of all the forums on the site. Scroll down to the forum you want to move it to and click. All done <g>

If you are not comfortable with that ... or have a problem ... lemme know. I can help you through it ... or do it for you ... which ever works best for ya <g>

cant find thread tools maybe it's not turned on but I thought you did all three of my games

Okay, I figured out how to do but it is not at all what you said. At the bottom of form is a box titled Inline Moderation and it has a pull down menu that lets you make sticky threads etc and one of choices is 'move threads then what you said works.'

Must be didn't for GMs as opposed to sysops.

As far as I know (not being able to =not= be a sysop <g>) it is moderators & sysops.

But ... what forum? I would like to take a look. Maybe I need to tweek the moderator settings there. Wouldn't be the first time I missed something when I set up a forum :-/

OK ... checked and everything seems to be fine there. What are you trying to move where and let me see if there is something with that is not working. I think you just are not looking in the right place. Go into the "SKY: First Class (Aaron, Angel, Lark and Scott)" thread.

The top 'line' shows '< Previous Thread' and 'Next Thread >' buttons.

Just below the '< Previous Thread' button are two more links: 'Thread Options' & 'Thread Tools'. It is the 'Thread Tools' link that you want.

It opens a 'drop down' list that should have 6 options:
  • Rename All Replies to Thread Title
  • Move/Merge Thread
  • Delete Thread
  • Lock Thread
  • Make Thread A Sticky
  • Make Thread a Global Announcement

It is the second one you want <g>

Let me know if there is a problem with any of that.
