The sounds of squawking woke him from his nap. The stupid parakeet was at it again. Today's tirade was about setting fire to Bringer or something equally less pleasant. It involved inappropriate actions with inanimate objects, none of which made it any easier to listen to the broken spanish. The darn thing could speak English as well but when it really wanted to rile Bringer up it chose the worst Spanish words it knew.

Glaring up from his comfortable position on the windowsill of the large bay window, Gordo pretended to ignore Jose, yawning widely and stretching slowly, head back down the length of his back until his stubby tail quivered slightly.

One of these days that stupid pájaro de mierda would slip up and reveal his true name. Once he knew that, oh how he would torture the little loud-mouthed cabrón.

Maybe it's true name was cabrón, but Gordo didn't think so.

Besides, he did not know what it meant.

Walking gingerly due to the fullness of his bladder, Gordo made his way to the utility room where his box of sand was located. He sniffed and nodded, then did his business and then tidily covered it up.

He wished he was covering up the bird.

His Burden had done their maintenance this morning and the sand was fresh. They might be insensitive to most things but a clean box was something that both Burden and cat seemed to enjoy.

A flash of light near the obnoxious parakeet caught Bringer's attention. The bird was dashing about its cage bumping all the shiny bangles inside. It was acting as if it were being chased, yet as far as the eye could see there was nothing in the cage with it.

Bringer

Moving quickly for one of his bulk, Gordo made his way back to the living room to see what was wrong with Jose. The bird was acting crazy - that was nothing new - but he usually didn't jump around like that. Was something after the bird?

Not that Gordo cared about the noisy and hateful pájaro, but this was the center of Gordo's territory and, if anyone was going to kill the bird, it would be him.

Shut up, stupid bird

His senses all alert, he scanned the area.

Bringer's keen senses did alert him to a quarry. Inside the little cage was an even smaller flying creature. It had dragon fly wings and green skin. Its small humanoid shape held a pin sized spear with both clawed hands trying to skewer the annoying parakeet.

Bringer

Two quick jumps took him to the back of the recliner, then one more careful jump and Bringer grabbed at the cage, three paws hanging on and the fourth swiping at the little fae being.

The creature was quick and agile. It dodged the surprise swing and moved out of range of the lethal claws. He wasn't able to get at the parakeet that was now hiding by the claws that Gordo so wanted to stick in him. The little pixie or nixie or winged goblin, who knew what it was other than malevolent and nasty, waggled its ears and wings at the cat. It said in a sing song voice "nyah, nyah" as a further taunt.

Bringer

Snarling, he bit ferociously at the place of opening, trying to get access to the interior of the cage.

The little door sprang open with a tearing of metal. His whiskers told him that it would be a really difficult fit but he could do it.

Bringer

Bringer lunged forward, trying to get his mouth around the little... whatever it was.

The little Fae screamed as Bringer managed to get his mouth around it. But the choice of capturing the little creature was not without peril, it used its pointy little stick and jabbed Bringer in the top of the mouth.

Bringer

"Rrrraawl!" he yowled and momentarily relaxed his grip, but only slightly and then clamped down again, determined to crush the intruder.

Warm green blood dripped out of Bringer's mouth. It tasted like dandelions or some other flower that wasn't all that tasty to eat but sure looked pretty enough to try.

Bringer could tell the little Fae was dead he had crushed its little bones and like the spear too, in his powerful jaws.

The parakeet was silent for a moment, clearly wondering if he was next on the menu.

Yet all the commotion had brought out Bringer's Burden. He knew because the first indication was a swat of a broom on his large back side. "Get down from there, you mangy cat. You can't eat the parakeet!" His Burden chastised.

Bringer

Carefully - Bringer was always, well, almost always careful - he looked around before he leaped to the floor, even though the broom's swat had scared the holy something or other out of him.

"Yarawwwll," he protested his innocence without much hope. His burdens never came down on his side when that damned pájaro was concerned.

Bringer carried the crushed body of the pixie over to his burden, carefully spat it out at its feet and looked up proudly.

His Burden gave an exclamation of "EWWWW" at the top of their lungs. "Hairball?" The unhelpful Burden inquired. It immediately used the broom to sweep the little corpse into a bag and then it went straight into the tall white container by the door. That container never seemed to fill up but that was were everything went.

Bringer

His burdens had to be some of the slowest on the uptake of any in the neighborhood. Bringer sighed under his breath and stalked off imperiously toward his bed.

well, that's why they are my burdens... make me want to bang my head against the floor...

He glanced back over his shoulder at Jose (who, BTW, is a myna bird and not a parakeet), thinking one of these days, you just wait, one of these days...

[OOC: Magic, see a parakeet transformed into a myna bird. Amazing! Well I think Bringer has something to bring up at the Parliament. smile Oh and as a note, look at your first message in this thread... that is where I got parakeet from. I fine with whatever, just pointing out I am not a complete doofus. Just a little partial one.]

[OOC: I went back and reread that post and saw nothing about a parakeet... not that it matters that much either way. smile ]
