sorry for the lateness of the post- I was up til 2am desparately trying to get the thoughts out of my head. work week had been rough and still dealing with the lingering issues from breaking a rib... jus can't stay seated in front of a computer for very long. The thoughts and ideas for this post came to me right after reading kel's post last week... just couldn't find time.

not rushing anyone- just making sure we don't have any miscommunications

i know i was super late last week and i apologize again for that.

I was waiting on Kel this week since I dropped an interaction hammer on her just prior to the GMs post so I figured i would giver her a chance to unpack all that and blend something into her next message before I posted again for Lyric

Kel has had another one of those “Why is the world insane? Why won’t my brain cooperate with me?” weeks and is shocked — SHOCKED, I tell you! — that she actually managed to write a post for BTS. Kel does not even have any notes for HWD yet this week and, oh, look, it’s already Friday. How did that happen?

Not sure I’ll get anything up for HWD today. <looks at email Inbox, whimpers> No, it doesn’t look likely. How about tomorrow?

When I’m stuck with a day that’s gray and lonely, I just stick out my chin and grin and say, “Oh! Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya, Tomorrow! You’re always a day away!”

Uhm, Phoenix, you may wish to edit your post. Remember, tunics, in general, are full skirted. Thus the long belt is not a problem at all. Here's a link to a far older HWD document that should help a bit - I can't remember why it wasn't part of the references, save that the sketches are ancient and a bit .. fine ... sketchy.

HWD and typical medieval clothing

Full skirts for both men and women lasted throughout most of the middles ages. Full tunic, surcoat, and the long belt was my preferred garb for my SCA days so many years ago. So I know the belt doesn't interfere with walking from personal experience.

What was a real problem was whenever anyone hung a scabbarded sword from their belt or belts. One quick turn could clobber anyone standing close!

and i was imagining the shorter tunic look as she had been wearing her riding breeches. I can still make something of this comic scene- since Lyric has spent most of her life wearing very little. Those slips and wisps of sheer fabrics in layers when she was first arrived in Waveriders reach being a case in point. So, yes she brought a heavier and finer garment in her bundle, but heavy long clothes are confining... I can make the post work with some edits to get the same effect i think

fair enough?

BTW- the sketches are just fine- I say update the resource site and get this page in there- plus any others you've been hiding, It was quite informative and for sidebar images these worked really well.

grrr

WHY WON'T DREAMLYRICS SEND ME ALL THE NOTIFICATIONS???? This is actually becoming a problem.

I was sitting here wondering if I ought to respond to Phoenix's post when I received a notification for only Wolf's last OOC post. And then I had to go check to see if Jim revised his post because "nodnods" is a freaky weird thing to say out of the blue, even for Wolf. And Jim did edit his post. And I like it. But I'm going to pass on a reply today because it's Long Post Day, but then I run into the same problem I had with Wolf's last two Long Posts (unless the GM declares today not a Long Post Day), and since I'm the only one who jumped back to the Keep, do I jump back to the market and reengage in that conversation and split my timeline (thereby hurting my head almost as much as our jolly storms are hurting it, only in different spots in my skull) or just stay in one place?

THEN I decided that I'd try to write a BTS post for Nivek because that's the next post to write my FIFO queue anyway and just walk away from Heartwood because it's causing me to write run-on sentences, and that's never a good thing.

No! I should go watch Dragon Prince.

actually, Phoenix, if you could jump to the keep that would be great - unless you try and do something, oh like try and rob the place - the most that will happen is the tailor would explain about quarter paneled skirts smile

Another weekend wherein I break the game... sorry everyone. My last breakage threw off everyone's timing and it is still affecting things a week later it seems

Uhm. Nope, I don't see it that way. The GM got a late start on writing his post (which was really more my fault and his fault than your fault). And because he started late, he continued past the point where his brain coherently created sentences and fell back into his bad habits of not writing full sentences and not writing sentences that made sense. This is not really a problem for the game because that's where the Word Nerd comes in: making sense of what Wolf wrote. Because Wolf got a late start and wasn't making as much sense as he recently has been making, and because, therefore, I got a late start, it got harder and harder for me to edit the posts. My brain tends to start winding down around mid-afternoon... before Wolf even sent his draft to me.

None of that is on you. It's between me and Wolf.

I'm still waiting on one more clarification. However, Wolf has said repeatedly (to me, at least) that Mondays are usually not days for being on the computer. Again, not your fault.

(Also, the game isn't broken. grin Silly, Phoenix! I might even be able to get Keiko back into play this week. MAYBE. I hope so.)

Kelly's right, I had a late start with everything yesterday ... i also happen to have President's Day off, and while I may be watching Umbrella Academy, I do peek on and off here!

(and that's because Dragon Prince stole me yesterday!)

Yeah- loving Dragon Prince. Fish and I binged season 1- season 2 going a little slower- just a couple episodes a day right now because free time has not been in sufficient quantity where both of us can sit down and watch together.

Folks - we may be delayed again; we are dealing with certain issues and that has chewed up more time than we ever expected.

well it's 10:00 AM and I've been at work for about two hours now, and that's after 76 hours of work previous. it looks like a full day ahead of me, so even if i did get home at a decent hour I'm probably in no shape to write anything.

on the bright side I know exactly what the post wants to be, so when i can think straight, it should be easy.

and on the brighter side, while next week is just as bad as the previous, that SHOULD be the end of my rolling deadlines. for a little bit.
