GMThe Corellian light freighter cruises into outer space with its sublight engines aglow.
In the cockpit, Bastian fixes the double jump in the navicomp.
"OK, good to---"
The close-in sensors suddenly light up with hostiles.
Appearing out of the mesosphere at attack speed, three TIE/wi interceptors. Enhanced
Whisper stealth systems and hyperspace tracking, they must have escorted the other TIEs and stayed on combat patrol in orbit.
On the
Bargon Flit, J.B. is still in the pilot seat, Amos still in the ventral turret, but the alert is ship-wide.
Before everyone can strap in, a blaze of shimmering blue light seems to streak from the planet's surface, intercepting the TIE Whispers.
When it hits, all three TIEs blackout, dead in space, allowing the
Flit to jump to lightspeed, leaving GH-531 in its space dust.
But even in hyperspace the blue streak keeps apace with the ship, almost like an intelligent comet it follows them... A shape forms in the shimmering energy field, massive, smooth body, an eye, a toothed jaw. A ghostly Purrgil calf. It looks deeply into J.B. and Amos's eyes and blinks slowly. The Purrgil connection to the Force is strong.
No-one's ever really gone. They almost hear the words in their heads. An old man's voice.
Mirror Team had put the captive Purrgil out of its misery, freeing it from its living hell. Now perhaps it has repaid them.
With a playful flick of its limbs, the calf barrel-rolls and seems to merge with the blue hyperspace tunnel.
No-one's ever really gone. And nothing ever really ends.
Things turn full circle, bringing us back to the beginning and that is where Winta, Amos, Sirra and J.B. head. To the Resistance base on Ajan Kloss.
