[Ghosted for Pandemonium]

Preach

His face was lit by the explosion outside, and then Preach sagged where he stood at the viewport.

The planet's surface became an indistinct desert and stars appeared.

In the airlock, the old Guardian of the Whills was smiling though.

The Force had taught him another lesson.

For a while now, Preach had feared that the rise of the Sith Eternal threatened the balance of the Force, the whole Galaxy.

But the Force had shown him this was small-minded and egocentric. Neither the Force nor the Galaxy were threatened by the Sith Eternal. Over aeons, balance would be restored and the Sith be forgotten.

No, it was the Sentient species and his own Galactic civilisation that Preach had feared for.

Raze them all to ground and in time new life will grow in the ruins.

It reminded Preach not of his insignificant but of his true significance. It was to his friends, the people around him, to his time on the mortal coil.

And that was good.

With his lungs feeling better after the stimpack, Preach made his way to the cockpit.

"My friends, we did it." He said warmly.

Sirra stands up and walks back, then stands staring down at Jix.

Winta

In slow time and absentmindedly, she powered down the guns. She stared into space, but nothing in her field of view registered. For some time she just recollected her times with Senator Organa - General Organa, and remembered the good times, savouring the memories.

After a while she came out of the gun position and rejoined the others.

It was only on seeing Sirra staring at Jix's body, that she became aware that they had taken losses. She lokoed around and saw Bek holding the head of 2BB-2 .

Though she had spent much less time with them than with the General, she spent time remembering her time with Jix and 2BB-2.

GM

The Corellian light freighter cruises into outer space with its sublight engines aglow.

In the cockpit, Bastian fixes the double jump in the navicomp.

"OK, good to---"

The close-in sensors suddenly light up with hostiles.

Appearing out of the mesosphere at attack speed, three TIE/wi interceptors. Enhanced Whisper stealth systems and hyperspace tracking, they must have escorted the other TIEs and stayed on combat patrol in orbit.

On the Bargon Flit, J.B. is still in the pilot seat, Amos still in the ventral turret, but the alert is ship-wide.

Before everyone can strap in, a blaze of shimmering blue light seems to streak from the planet's surface, intercepting the TIE Whispers.

When it hits, all three TIEs blackout, dead in space, allowing the Flit to jump to lightspeed, leaving GH-531 in its space dust.

But even in hyperspace the blue streak keeps apace with the ship, almost like an intelligent comet it follows them... A shape forms in the shimmering energy field, massive, smooth body, an eye, a toothed jaw. A ghostly Purrgil calf. It looks deeply into J.B. and Amos's eyes and blinks slowly. The Purrgil connection to the Force is strong.

No-one's ever really gone.

They almost hear the words in their heads. An old man's voice.

Mirror Team had put the captive Purrgil out of its misery, freeing it from its living hell. Now perhaps it has repaid them.

With a playful flick of its limbs, the calf barrel-rolls and seems to merge with the blue hyperspace tunnel.

No-one's ever really gone. And nothing ever really ends.

Things turn full circle, bringing us back to the beginning and that is where Winta, Amos, Sirra and J.B. head. To the Resistance base on Ajan Kloss.
