Bennies can be used for:

A Trait reroll (Attribute or Skill), but not a critical fail of 1, 1. Can do multiple times and take best but a critical fail in any roll becomes final result.
Instant recovery from Shaken
Recover 5 Power Points
Soak damage. After taking damage but before taking Wounds, make a Vigor check, each success and raise reduces 1 Wound from attack
Draw a new Action Card for the round
Reroll damage
Influence the Story: GM's call

I thought you can't use Bennies to reroll Damage? There's an Edge for that I believe?

According to the Savagefinder rules, you can. There's an Edge to get a +2 when spending a Benny to reroll damage.

OK. You can't if you use the Test Drive Rules.

You can use a benny to reroll any trait test. You can even keep
spending them until you get the result you want or you run out of
bennies! Take the best of your rolls—spending a benny should
never hurt you, only help. If your original roll is a 5, for example,
and a benny gets you a 4, you keep the original 5 instead.
Bennies cannot normally be spent on damage rolls, rolls on
tables, or anything besides trait rolls. (Soak rolls and certain
Edges do allow other uses of bennies besides rerolling trait
rolls, but these are the exception.) Bennies are not saved up
between sessions, so use ‘em or lose ‘em!

Savage Pathfinder is a bit more deadly than the more pulpy normal setting for Savage Worlds.

The rules say:
Anyone can:
REROLL DAMAGE: You may spend a Benny to reroll damage. Include any additional dice you may have gained for a raise on the attack roll.

There is an Edge that allows:
NO MERCY
REQUIREMENTS: Seasoned
When this killer spends a Benny to reroll damage, he adds +2 to his final total.

Could I spend a Bennie to just notice the sneaky gobbo or improve my chances thereof?

A spent Bennie allows for a complete reroll of any or all of the dice on the attempt.

So Absolutely yes!
