Roll20 Site
Posted By: MikeD Re: Roll20 Site - Sat 10/07/21 17:47 UTC
Is anyone else having a problem?? My browser seems to 'hang' when I click on the link <sigh>

Are you using Chrome? It doesn't hang for me.

Might want to come watch you guys play next time to see how it works on Roll20 if there is the room to watch.

It's looking tough to get a session here with this crew.
If you want to observe a session, I run two other games fully on Roll20 and Discord. Let me know if you're interested. In fact, I ran a session today.

And we'd even likely have a pc for you to play as somebody inevitable is missing.

He can take on Bern since I cannot figure out how to get R20 to work here <sigh>

I was talking about Nep and my other Roll20 game with our FTF group, We'll figure out how to get you on MikeD.
Posted By: MikeD Re: Roll20 Site - Sun 11/07/21 18:31 UTC
Well I think the problem is that R20 doesn't like Pale Moon ... of vice versa <sigh>
Posted By: nem Re: Roll20 Site - Sun 11/07/21 18:45 UTC
Aye, so MikeD's running Win 7 and Pale Moon 28.9.3. Roll20 definitely won't work with that browser, but MikeD also said he has the latest version of Chrome so Roll20 should run fine in that.

<sigh> I =really= hate using chrome :-/

Philosophically opposed to Google? Functionally, I like Chrome better than Firefox, IE, or Edge.
Posted By: MikeD Re: Roll20 Site - Sun 11/07/21 19:34 UTC
I don't disagree with your feelings about Firefox, IE, or Edge. I centered on Pale Moon because it doesn't waste as many 'resources' as Chrome <g>
Posted By: Neptune Re: Roll20 Site - Sun 11/07/21 21:59 UTC
Developers don't develop for Pale Moon. Sorry. We'll remember to remind you to suffer through Chrome when you need to access Roll20.
BTW, Chrome is the choice for every geeky developer out there. The tools built in are awesome. It probably won't sway your opinion but it's just kind of a fact these days that Chrome is the browser of choice.

Edge, Chrome and Firefox all use about the same resources these days tbh. I think because they measure themselves against each other.

On the plus side, all three are pretty good browsers compared to what they used to be, standards-wise. You no longer have to build a different website stylesheet for each. wink

Well ... I think I have chrome working here. Guess we will see <g>

Mike,
You and I can plan a 10 minute tech-check the day before the game to make sure we're functional.

Nem,
True. And the resources behind Chrome development are literally the best there are. It's a mission critical piece of software. I find the "resource issues" during games are not Chrome, but Roll20 itself. Thankfully, those are server-side problems.

Sounds like a plan Nep.
