Games List

The Games List now has its own display box on the left hand of the screen at the bottom.

Clicking on the game title will take you to that forum.
Clicking on the category will show you all of the games in that category.

The great thing now is that GMs can alter the status of their games via the Admin link in Games List but you must be in your forum to do this.

This is still under development and so the only things a GM can currently do at the moment is to tick 'Show in List?' if they want it to be displayed in the Games List Box. And to select status for Recruiting - Yes, No, Maybe.

And 'Save'! smile

Is it possible to mark the Games List in some way, so that games which are *on hold* for whatever reason are indicated as such?

That would really help a lot for those of us who are looking for games to join. Otherwise, when you look at the Games List, you see plenty of "Yes" and "Maybe" tags. But after spending a few minutes in the games' section, you discover that the game(s) just aren't moving.

A game's OOC section will often make it pretty clear why a specific game isn't running. But sometimes, you really just have to guess. Maybe the recruiting column for a game could just be blank during that time?

Thanks!

Other than changing the title or something to that effect, the only mechanism we have is to hide the game completely, which we do if they've been inactive for a while. The GMs could certainly put up a clear message stating it's on hold or at least changing the recruiting toggle to no.

Anything would help to make it more obvious than it is at present.

One thing you can do, Doretta, is click Active Topics. That will give you a list of, well, active topics. Simply browsing that will give you a firm idea of what games are active.

Thanks, Neil...Good suggestion! I didn't even think about that one.

Okay, I have another question. What's the difference between Active Topics and Active Posts? Isn't that pretty much the same thing?

Still trying to decipher all the clues on the message board to tell me which games are actually running or not and/or which are currently recruiting or not. It's a real mystery sometimes. <g>

If there have been several recent posts in one topic, each would appear under Active Posts, but only the last would be indicated under Active Topics.

Aye. So basically for your purposes, Doretta, active topics is the one you want.
