Interesting topsy turvey first round. Argus often plays low, AJ always high! Not this time!

AJ goes first, taking the one point row 3 and probably hoping to catch some high card players.

Weez sees a great opportunity on the new second row and Exeter on the new third row. They both take 'em!

Argus and Aqua both have the same idea and head for the same place. Fortunately there is a space there for each of them, Argus first whilst Aqua takes the last slot filling row 1.

Everyone else heads for the two spaces on row 3, however this time there are three players and two spaces and we all know three into two don't go!

Exeter and AJ get away with it whilst Weez cops for 12 points! Ouch!

Aqua doesn't like the lay of the board and decides his best course of action might be to take the 5 point bust in the interests of avoiding a worse fate!

And so his 13 busts row 1 as he expected.

Everyone else plays high, three of whom land on row 2. The trick here is not to be second. That honour falls to Argus as he watches Exeter just sneak into that last spot ahead of him and AJ happily waves him on to take the 9 points.

Maybe Aqua had a good strategy?

Weez has a better option though as her 92 slips softly onto the third row!

Plenty of spaces or low bust options now!

That empty first row is beckoning hard and everyone's heads swivel towards it.. well fortunately everyone's except for Weez's as there is only room for four who pile on to fill the row and take it into double figures!

Weez however has her own agenda, following the plan she set up in the last two rounds as she slips onto row 3!

Quite a close grouping this time, almost every playing a card with the potential to bust!

And Weez takes that option first, striding boldly forward - maybe tired of playing by herself - and busts row 1 for 4 points. Not too bad!

Again everyone is playing a game and with the potential to bust. But I do understand row 2 avoidance!

Weez goes first again but this time she elects to bust row 4! Makes no difference

AJ goes first and is forced to bust a row. Fortunately row 2 with its meagre 5 points beckons him over. Exeter and Aqua gratefully follow him onto the new row 1.

Now Weez & Argus both play high. Weez goes first and as she foresaw has to bust the 10 point row!

Argus however is gleeful as he dances after her onto that row.

Exeter's turn to step up to the plate. Row 3 is quite a nice bust, just 4 points and so he takes it.

AJ isn't so lucky. He has to bust new row 3 for 9 points!

Everyone is queuing tightly behind him to file into a safe spot!

AJ, Aqua and Exeter are still smiling, in with a chance but poor Weez, not a good round, is on the brink of collapse!

Great close game, only 7 point spread between first and fourth! Good luck, all!

And then there was the person in 5th place...

It ain't over 'till it's over! Argus put together two 0-point rounds in a row, you can do the same!

Those 3 points in the first round is an added challenge.

I recall being in a similar situation as you in a previous game, throwing caution to the wind and making wild, risky plays, and coming out squeaky clean.

I'll hope to follow your lead.
