OK ... just watched the 1956 version (featuring Raymond Burr) just a couple of weeks after watching the 2014 version. An interesting comparison. They both had things that I appreciated ... they both had bits I ... 'disliked' <sigh>

So ... for those that are fans of the 'big guy' ... wha-cha think??

Rubber Suit all the way!

Godzilla is all about a guy in a rubber suit stomping around a scale model of Tokyo.

To each his own. But show me someone 'on screen' that =ISN'T= wearing a costume. Just that some are more fun than others <g>

The original B&W Japanese version is still the best imo. It was the Jaws of its time. Not just a blockbuster but a damn fine, well made film in its own right. I highly recommend it, definitely in my Top 10 favourite films of all-time.
