I found it really cringe-worthy tbh. It felt like James Gunn doing a Cowboy Bebop skit.

I hoped they were going to forge their own identity. Like 2012's Judge Dredd adaptation. It wasn't the Mega City One of the comics or the Judge Anderson, but heck it had the soul of the comics.

This Netflix series is more like Stallone's 1995 Judge Dredd adaptation. Mostly looks the part (although production values are more Doctor Who than Altered Carbon) but it does not have the soul of Cowboy Bebop anime, imo.

Fortunately, Netflix are also running the original anime so have at it, I say.

Cowboy Bepop is a three to flat nine riff of Cowboy Bebop.

or, as Jet said - Bird was the better player.

But then, not everyone likes jazz.
