Early footage has garnered praise, so I am hoping the whole movie is amazing. I loved the original, I even liked the SyFy miniseries. So I think I will love this one!

Oh! Vanity Fair is supposed to have an article on it today.

Looking for to Oscar Isaac and his beard. grin Oh and Jason Momoa

I do so adore the visual spectacle of the Francesca Annis movie and well Francesca Annis....the minis series was good too

The picks of Timothe are a bit Edwards Scissorhands to me so.

But I will watch when I get a chance.

I hope it's better than the first Dune movie!
Posted By: MikeD Re: Dune - Wed 11/11/20 16:02 UTC
One can only hope. But I have never seen a movie that was as good as the book that inspired it <sigh>

(( not that I didn't enjoy =some= of them <wink> ))

Mike, there are a few movies that are better than the books that inspired them. A Simple Favor, I thought was better than the book. But that might have been due to the writing style instead of content. Drive me Crazy much better than the source book smile
Posted By: MikeD Re: Dune - Thu 12/11/20 12:59 UTC
Well that is the other side of the scale, Mina. IMHO, those books were not great reads, so it would be a lot easier to improve upon it <g>
Posted By: Mina Re: Dune - Thu 12/11/20 21:47 UTC
Mike, agreed! I am just holding out hope that the new movie will inspire people to read the original Dune and fall in love with it luv
Posted By: MikeD Re: Dune - Thu 12/11/20 21:52 UTC
I also =hope= that the new movie will be 'worth it'!! However, I have to say that I have been more disappointed more often than not <sigh>
