OOC: I thought that I responded but it looks like I forgot to click send. I hate when that happens! Davroar can make up a save. Read on.. The Roll20 map is updated. Let's start with the top of the order. Chandan, Bern then Kriv.
DM Jaliera lets an arrow fly and it she knows that it struck true when she heard the target wail and refocus it's attention. It dashes towards the party, no longer shying away from Ryssa. It is just about to reach Bern.
Feeling creeps back into his extremities as he finally manages to regain control over his body. Using the wall for support he slowly stands up and says around a thick-feeling tongue, "Thanks! Thought I was going be eaten!"
[Neptune, those steps to the right, would the party get advantage by fighting the ghouls at the top of the steps, with the ghouls coralled on the steps.]
ooc: Just getting back in the swing of things. I'll move forward tonight. In response to Neal's question, "no". I'm not 100% sure that you're looking at the right things (or interpreting what you see correctly). Except for one ghoul, all the rest are at the edge of your light sources. You can't see what's at those edges. The "bodies" in the map are just that, half-eaten bodies that the ghouls were snacking on. They are not combatants. They are meat.
[Nep, here's what I was thinking. See below. I might not be reading the map correctly, but it looks like the PCs would have a height advantage. They could even upturn the long table to the right of the coloured squares, at the top of the steps for use as a barricade.]
In the graphic above yours you'll see that there are ghouls north east of you. Also, they haven't moved yet. When they do, you'll be alone in the chamber. They are still fleeing and after their turn, they won't be visible in the map.
So, let's see where we're at...
DM The lone ghoul charges Bern but the ranger's arrow find it first. The ghoul clutches the arrow shaft sticking out of it's chest, breaks it off and continues advancing.
OOC: I am waiting for Chandan and Kriv to go before the ghouls. Status:
Bern's arrow breaks the grip of holy fear on the ghoul and it returns, looking to do evil. Chandan has just the cure for its malady, and rushes in with a spear thrust and roundhouse kick.
"Eat this!" He yelps.
Once Bern is clear, Chandan will retreat back to the corridor where the party are forming a defensive wad.
"Do we wait for the ghouls to return? Or push on?" He asks.
"One of us could advance with a torch, get their attention with an arrow or something, then run back to here. Might take a bit of time but must be a safer option than just wandering ahead blindly."
ooc: AJ, place the torch. Note, treat like combat. How many moves to get to the torch? An action to throw it again.
All, Since we're counting down the rounds after the turning, let's cognizant of the very limited amount of time to do anything. I haven't done the math yet but you have about 30 seconds left before it wares off.
[ooc: That's for you guys to decide One note, you realize that this is the last leg of this module, right? We're almost at the very end, believe it or not. That being said, I've put on my cruel DM hat. You're now experienced 5e players and mortality is an issue. Whisper's demise might have been just the first of several. bwahahahaha
I added an updated tactical. Notice that the ghouls have not stopped running and are out of view. ]

Content to support the choices they are making he prepares for battle. The fact that the ghouls were out of view as not a good sign, but if they could ambush them, it might work out after all.
Picking a ghoul's tooth from the calloused sole of his foot, the old monk flicks it away and looks around. The corridor is tight, defensible, and tails back to area's known.
"Who wants to stand front? I don't mind, but I have reach with my spear too." He asks amiably, sensing they have a few moment's respite.
OOC: If you are to move, let's do that. Whoever you guys want leading the way should place his/her self forward and I'll drag the rest of you along. You can keep talking, of course, but it's time to get into position.
Also, I wish everyone a Happy Easter and Happy Passover and if you don't celebrate either, have a Great Weekend!
