[OOC I see how it is. We have become part of a throwaway society. I see no idea of what it costs to repair armor. I see that splint is 250 and plate is 1500. Lumi doesn't have 1500, and I am sure a couple of dozen blows wouldn't make him get new armor, but I see no way to figure out (not sure if it falls under skilled or not) what it would cost to repair it. Probably don't have time anyway. So I guess Lumi will spend 200 for a new set. razz
Or I could just ignore it, having said nothing since it is flavor text anyway. smile ]

OOC: One would think that arrows are so basic that they would have included them in the weapons section of the SRD! As stated there, they don't include cost anyway <grumble>

From the PHB: Arrows (20) 1 gp, 1 lb.

Anyhow, as for repairing armor, neither Zeim nor I will ask you to ever repair your armor. Nor, do I think, we'll ever ask you to restock your ammunition. It's just too much of a PITA to do that and since we're coming to the end of this game (the last chapter), I simply wouldn't stress about it. Sure, roleplay it out as you desire, but by being a stickler for stocking up isn't where I gained my reputation as an evil DM weg

Gypsy, what are you referring to?

[ooc: Assume that the statue came up in conversation - at about the same time as Chandan's ass. On that topic, there's nobody selling livestock or body parts in Phandelin.]

"Ryssa, while you are out, you might want to get that statue assessed? Is it likely to be magical?"

She smiles at the cleric, liking her and the others they had joined with.

Ryssa

The cleric with the scarred left cheek pulled the small, exquisitely carved and shiny statue from her haversack and took it from the cloth in which she'd wrapped it.

"It would not surprise me if it had magical properties. I wonder who would be best to appraise it along those lines."

Ahem, This post here is a nudge to move forward from chit-chatting with each other and move on to do anything you want to do in town ASAP. I will fast forward after I digest my turkey later this week so take advantage of the opportunity sooner than later or miss out.

Bern makes his way to the Lionshield coster. Hanging above the front door of this modest trading post is a sighn shaped like a wooden shiend with a blue lion painted on it. Linene Graywind, the proprieter, weclomes you to her place of business. "What can I do for you Bern?" obviously recognizing the ranger.

<Bern>

He smiled at the welcome. It had been a while since he had been here, so it was 'nice' that she remembered. "Thanks. I need to get some arrows. I need a score of these", he said showing her one of his arrows. "I also need a couple score of arrows about so big", he says, using his arrow as an example, holding it and sliding his hand to the appropriate 'length'.

Linene holds up a finger and says, "Hold on a moment. I happen to have a case of arrows. I have what I have. Let me fetch them."

She goes in the back and brings back a box of standard arrows. "Here you go. 20 will cost you 1 GP."

<Bern>

He sighs when she heads to the back. Better arrows meant better accuracy.

He set 3 gold pieces in the counter and started counting out 3 score arrows from the box, making sure that they are the best of the bunch.

Then it was back to the group.

Linene took the gold and before Bern left she thanked him for all that he and his associates have done for Phandelin so far. Ridding the town of the Redbrands was a big deal and now, returning with the dwarf miner was an extra bonus as far as she was concerned. "If there's anything else that you need, let me know and I'll see what I can do about obtaining it.

The arrows are fine quality. Without an infusion of magic, they would have to do.

He had his armor patched, and gathered his supplies. He was ready to head out as soon as the rest are ready.

Ryssa took the tiny statue around town and ended up at the Miner's Exchange where they met with Halia Thornton. When they were in town before, Lingo had spent some time with her and when Ryssa walked through the door, she greeted the cleric and quickly brought Lingo's name up. Halia seemed quite upset to hear of the halfling's demise. Then, she asked about Kalista, the tiefling that first accompanied the other half of the group and was equally saddened to learn that she too had perished. When Halia calmed, she looked at the statue and after a brief study said, "No, it's not magical, but it's nice. I can give you 100 gold for it." The exchange went smoothly.

At the Shrine of Luck, you met with the scholarly acolyte named Sister Garaele. At first the zealous young elf was eager to hear the tale of the encounter with Agatha. She recorded the words of the banshee that were repeated to her. 'The disposition of the spellbook formerly belonging to the mage Bowgentle is in the hands of a necromancer named Tsernoth from the city of Iriaebor and the name of the wizard who built the Old Owl Tower is Arthindol.' But upon learning that the banshee had used her death wail on Kriv she was horrified. "I did not imagine that you would have needed to risk so much!" she said. Instead of giving the party the three healing potions that she had agreed to, she provided five.

It was mid morning by the time they left town. Fully stocked and all business now resolve in Phandelin, they headed east, into the hills leading towards the Sword Mountains. It was an uneventful five or six hour trek to the Wave Echo cave. By mid afternoon they were marching through the deep vales of the mountains. This is where the map led them. After a short restudy of the map and identification of markers on Gurdren's map, they finally found the narrow entrance to the caves. The party paused to make final preparation before entering into the pitch black tunnel.

The statue's value is 100 GP

Please make preparations: prepare spells if you need to, arrange for light. You should set a marching order. The map is up in Roll20.
Here's the link to the Roll20 map Please place yourself anywhere "visible". You're PC's are at the bottom left of the map (aka SW).

Kriv

The Dragonborn noble spake a single guttural syllable, his staff blazing with light.

Light cantrip on the staff of defence.

In terms of marching order, Kriv is happy near the front, to support the scouts.

Ryssa

As usual, Ryssa would locate herself near the middle of the marching order.
