Bern makes it down, slipping at the end, but no harm to him.

[ooc: It took a double-move. Luminmorn is up]

Luminmorn

He called up his eldritch gift from the Great Dragon and threw a bolt of force at one of the stirges. They were temporarily not a problem, but they would be and had to be destroyed.

The buffetting action by the wind and they flying creatures made it impossible to hit one.

1 to hit, wow the d20 doesn't like me at the moment.

Pnde - Just wondering why you rolled d20-1? Your spellcasting modifier is CHA, which is 18 (+4), and your Proficiency Bonus is +2 for Warlock, so it should be d20+6. You'd still miss, but it should not be d20-1 unless I missed something?

Ryssa

The flying monstrosities seemingly under control - at least from what Ryssa could see from her vantage point, the cleric climbed down the rope.

Can I still use the STR check I rolled on December 4th? 1d20+1 = 20

Sure. I'll assume you're using a double move. When you get to the bottom, you still have a move of 20 left. So you can place yourself in any non-occupied space within that distance of the rope.

Kriv is up.

Kriv

He considered wading in and blasting the Stirges away with a Thunderwave, but the wall of air was doing a magnificent job in that regard. So, he leaned around where he could feel the buffetting air to be to try and line up a clear shot on the extant stirge, to no avail.

Chandan

"Argh!" Is about as much sense as he can muster as the stirges hover around him, stabbing at him with their lance-like nose-mouths.

But as long as there's a drop of blood alcohol left him, he won't give up.

[Chandan hits 1st stirge with spear for 10 damage
Chandan hits 2nd stirge with kick for 7 damage
Moves, spends 1 Ki for Flurry of Blows
Chandan hits 3rd stirge with punch for 9 damage]

Chandan punches three separate stirges through the wall. The wind can's stop him and three of the parasites are pulverized by the drunken punches.

Two stirges remain but the wall is between them and their prey. They are very hungry and since they can fly, they do. Up they go and then they dive-bomb. One on Kriv and the other on Chandan. Both strike. The one on Chandan a near perfect strike in the back of his neck. The monk drops and his ashen face bounces off the floor, the bloodsucker still attached to his neck, as is the other one to Kriv.

Both hit. The hit on Chandan is a crit.

Jaliera

Her heart heavy, she tries to pull her focus together. She cannot let Gundren or the rest of her group down, especially as many of them tried to help Whisper. She looks down into the cavern and sees a stirge attacking Kriv and fires an arrow.

Davroar

Seeing the stirge on Kriv killed by Jaliera's arrow he will drop his wind wall, move up, and attack the last stirge attached to Chandan. Quickly casting shillelagh on his staff, he manages to hit the thing to a bloody pulp. Bending down he will immediately check to see how bad Chandan's condition is.

Davroar drops the wind wall and then smacks the last stirge with his staff with a mighty swing. The avian critter smashes into the wall and the blood in it's belly showers those nearby.

With the final stirge dead, Chandan can be tended to.

The dragon born moves forward and puts a hand upon the fallen monk. Passing some of the Great Dragon's blessing on to the man to help him recover.

1 pt lay on hands to stablize. Now we can really heal him. More available should we want to use the points that way. grin

<Bern>

With the last of the immediate threats 'put down' and the need to tend to the injured, =he= takes up a defensive position, watching for the next 'threat'. There was no evidence that stirges had had been involved in the death of the dwarf up top, so it seemed clear that there were other threats down here.

The Dragonborn advanced into the cavern, pointedly not looking at the expenditure of their limited healing resources.

Jaliera

Still feeling raw from losing Whisper, she stays where she is for now and along with Bern, helps top guard the rear. There are two directions that trouble could come from, behind them the way they came in and along the other chasm. If Bern is looking in one direction, she'll take the other, their position aloft giving them an advantage.
