Gundren

"Thank you all! As far as paying you, I won't take no for an answer! I pay my debts and you saved my life!"

With that he pulls out a coin purse and throws it on the table. "I collected some money owed to me. Split it amongst yourselves for now. Consider it an advance payment. It's not enough to even the debt. I pledge to you one tenth of all profits from the mining operation once it is up and running again. You deserve it and it's incentive for you to secure it for me and my brothers."

Everyone add 25 gp to your belongings for now.

"I am glad for the company", he said with a smile. "But we should try and find an armorer. You want your armor to be in top shape."

"Agreed," with regard to an armorer.

"Well then, sooner left, sooner returned", he said with a grin and headed out to the street.

Ryssa

"I will go to the kitchen and see if they have the necessary ingredients in stock to fix for you a... morning after tonic," she said with a smile for the old monk she had grown to like.

Ryssa turned and spoke to Gundren.

"We have profited adequately from our assignments in this town and I, for one, feel no need for further remuneration from you. I will be pleased to try and help you."

The cleric turned and made her way to the kitchen where she managed to procure a rather unusual list ingredients which she made into a fizzing, foaming drink which she carried back to Chandan.

"It tastes rather sharp, I am afraid, my friend, but I do think it will ease you of the pains which come from prior night excesses."

Ryssa smiled and handed it to him.

"I used to prepare this for my mentor, Athelor, when I was but a trainee in the service of Lathander."

He fully understood that need to make good on obligations, and made no word of complaint at Gundren's largess. He bowed respectfully, and counted out his share of 25 gold, tucking it away afterwards.

"It seems we are under mutual ties of gratitude for services rendered. So be it: All shall be made good in time, and you already have my unbreakable word on the matter."

Your friend, Gundren, is heartened that you'll take on the mission that he cannot. For as long as you've known him, he loved gold more than almost anything. So it is not surprising that he seems aghast when some turned down his reward. Looking at him you realize that he's not keen on taking it back. He makes a point by emptying the purse on the table and shoving it empty into a pocket, leaving the coins on the table.

He changes the subject and starts to describe the way to the mines and describing the outlying areas. Then he told everyone how it was discovered.

"It's fifteen miles east of here, in the deep vales of the Sword Mountains. That's were the Wave Echo Cave lies. Legend had it that the rich mine of the Phandelver's Pact was lost five hundred years ago during orc invasions that devastated this part of the North. So many
prospectors and adventurers have searched for the lost mine, but nobody succeeded until my brothers and I found the entrance a month ago. We didn't realize it at the time, but we were being trailed."

Breakfast tapers off and the adventurers find time to run all their errands, shopping for arrows, meeting with Sister Garaele, Daren Edermath and any other activities before you head off.

He will take his share of coins in respect to Gundren, and will use it to get his armour fixed after breakfast. Any left over he will evenly distribute to any children he finds in the streets between the armourer's shop and the inn.

[OOC We got a 1/7th share of the 1000gp from Gundren last night = 143 and now another 25gp. Added to sheet. You also mentioned other items we have yet to examine. Can we have a list? smile ]

"I go with you to the armourers Davroar."

For no other reason than she wants to spend time in his company.

He gave Davroar a wink and a nod. Clearly =he= would have his own agenda now.

Gypsy - I think that refers to the golden Statuette of the Elf you found in the Castle.

He takes his share as he does not wish to offend. He tries to get his armor repaired or at worst case, gets the materials so that he can accomplish the task himself.

[OOC: Thanks for the update on the 143. I missed that and will add it to his totals now.]

Chandan

Nods in thanks to Gundren for the coins. The monk feels that they aren't his, so much as the traders who he'll give them too. But the goods they'll buy will be Chandan's to benefit from.

He sets about preparing for a journey into the Sword Mountains. A much shorter journey than Phandelin to Thundertree, but possibly more arduous and colder. He will have to forget beer, cider and wine, but the locals have told him about the cut brandy---

And then Ryssa's handing a tonic of her own creation. Marvellous! And what a generous soul! He thanks her and takes a giant gulp from the tankard.

His hooded eyes go wide, twitching and his wrinkles wrinkle, then he judders top to bottom and back up again before placing the empty tankard on the table and nodding, smiling politely without breathing.

"Miraculous indeed!" He gasps hoarsely.

Ryssa

She nodded and then smiled and then covered her mouth with her hand as if her lips itched or perhaps she was covering a grin.

"You have much the same reaction as my mentor, Athelor, had."

Ryssa's head suddenly cocked to one side and she got a far off look in her eyes as a memory returned to her.

"Would anyone have time to visit the Old Owl Well with me? I sort of committed myself to fulfill a request for Daren Edermath there."

Chandan

He splutters, trying to get his lips and tongue to work together, as he points to Kriv.

"Old Owl Well. Undead threat. Yes, we have been there. Kriv is the one to speak to... Excuse me, I go pack.!" He says, and leaves the table, walking like he'd just stood on a shocker lizard.

He glowered at Chandan's finger as if he wanted to have it tried for crimes against digitanity, but looked back to Ryssa and elucidated,

"Ah yes, Old Owl Well. Thayvian explorer by the name of Kost. We were able to learn of his purpose there and to discern that the undead were not an offensive threat so much as a defensive measure. Kost was also able to direct us to Cragmaw Keep and provide some leads on our mutual enemy. We relayed the information to Daren Edermath accordingly: Given our association, you may consider that commitment fulfilled by proxy."

Her expression grew once again serious and she nodded slowly as she thought about the Order of the Gauntlet.

"I would like, nevertheless, to speak with Daren Edermath.

As some mention the need to restock ammunition and repair armor, those who did not need it before are referred to the Lionshield Coster, a trading post in town. While Barthen's Provisions is where someone would head for more mundane supplies.

[ooc: I see no need to play out the restock. Use standard pricing as in the SRD. Barthen's sells any mundane item under 25 GP. You can buy any simple or martial weapon at the Lionshield Coster. They also sell any armor less than 100gp. The smithy is next door.]

Daren Edermath's lives lives in a tidy little cottage beside an apple orchard in the north west of the village. As he sees a group approaching, as the half-elf recognizes some of the visitors they are greeted with a welcoming smile.

Well ... duh! Why didn't they say so. I think it is interesting that in the weapons section for bow they have a link to ammo ... but then don't tell you the cost ... or where to find the cost <sigh>

Anyway ... am I getting arrows for myself and two others ... or three? That would make it 3 or 4 gp total <g>
