(OOC - Gypsy - Since you are attacking an enemy adjacent to one of your allies, and/or you are attacking from hiding, you get to attack w/Advantage. The reason for your getting to add your Sneak Damage is that you are attacking w/Advantage, not that you hid (technically hiding lets you attack w/Advantage which then gives you the Sneak Damage, but it is the Advantage, technically, that gives you the added Damage.) So make another attack roll please.

Also, note that as you have a familiar you can grant yourself Advantage, and thus sneak damage, on ALL your attacks. All you need to do is have Whisper use the "Help" Action against the target you want to attack, which gives you Advantage on any attack where you did not already have Advantage.

Whisper, as an Owl, has the special ability of "Flyby Attack":

Flyby: The owl doesn't provoke Opportunity Attacks when it flies out of an enemy's reach.

With a Fly speed of 60', this means she can swoop down, distract a foe, and fly out of reach of any return attack, and give you Advantage and thus Sneak Dam on ALL your attacks. It is one of the best features of having a Familiar.)

I would probably NOT allow that because the owl does not go exactly when you go and an ally must be adjacent to the target when you attack and the flyby does not do that. If Whisper were to stay there, yes. But I don't think you want her in harm's way. Zeim and I need to discuss.

But something to look forward to:

VERSATILE TRICKSTER
At 13th level, you gain the ability to distract targets with your mage hand. As a bonus action on your turn, you can designate a creature within 5 feet of the spectral hand created by the spell. Doing so gives you advantage on attack rolls against that creature until the end of the turn. ]

Nep - The "Help" action grants you advantage on your attack. It the same thing Able did for Amnon all the time.

The sentence in the Help Action that refers to "within 5 feet of you" does not specify when the creature must be within 5 feet of you. It doesn't say "at the start of your turn", so you can move up to a creature, use "Help", then move away (Flyby). Just as a regular PC could run up to a foe and use Help to assist in someone else's attack instead of attacking themselves. They could even move away too, but would grant an OA if they did so. The only difference for the Owl is the Flyby attack removes the OA.

So Jaliera would get Advantage, and thus Sneak damage, if someone "Helped". Now any foe with a ranged attack could still target the Owl, all Flyby does is eliminate OAs.

BTW, this is SOP on the Web chat boards for Familiars, and is why Owls are especially picked as Familiars.

Honestly, though, between Hiding and having any ally adjacent Jaliera should almost always be attacking w/Advantage and Sneak Dam anyway, even without the Owl.

Since Chandan is still the most severely injured of the group, Ryssa would move closer to him and cast Cure Wounds on the old monk.

Ryssa moves up and offers additional healing to Chandan. Jaliera fires at the Hobgoblin, but it is protected by it's armour too well.

Need Chandan and Kriv to act.

He picks up his spear and examines the tip. Curiously, the missed through seems to have straightened out a kink in the edge.

With a shrug and happy smile, he quickly refocuses and chases after the archer, Bern, blurting aloud to Ryssa:

"Thank you, my friend! You are wonderful person!"

And he means it. What next though?

How much more of the cleric's restorative magic will he need? How many more gobblers and hobbledegobs can there be!? The answers are probably related.

Kriv

A moment to hear the sounds of combat, and he heads around the corner, squeezing twixt it and the flaming sphere, to engage with the visible hobgoblin as it hoves into view. He swung the maul at it viciously to draw its attention.

Chandan runs through the curtain to join Bern, and sees the last Goblin crumpled with an arrow in it's throat. From here he too can hear the sounds of arguing and "shush!" coming form the other side of the door to the east.

On the other side of the area, the last Hobgoblin is now holding off two Dragonborn on it's own, and is gaining confidence.

That confidence seems to be rewarded as it strikes hard at the newly arrived Kriv and hits a solid blow. As it does it shouts out loudly, "Come! They can't defeat me alone! Now is the time!"

With the Hob calling out and the sounds from the east door, it seems like they will have additional 'targets' soon. He moves to a point where he can watch the east door and readies to shoot the first gob or hob that comes through.

(OOC - For Readied Actions, technically, you would roll when your "Trigger" happens. However, for on-line play it is simpler for me if you roll now and the attack would be applied if the "Trigger" happens before your next turn. This way I don't have to interrupt the turn and wait for you.)

Trigger: some hob or gob comes through the east door.

The cleric of the Morninglord moved to follow Chandan into the room where Bern was waiting. Just in case, she prepared another spell of healing - this time a ranged one.

With Luminmorn and Kriv currently in the way, he will only move up a few steps to get a better view eastwards while moving his fire sphere to a more central location for anything that might be come at them.

Now that both Dragonborn are fighting the last hobgoblin and the flaming sphere is in there too, she doesn't really have a useful place in that fight and thinks a reposition is in order.

She sends Whisper through into the room with Bern and Chandan so she can keep up with what is happening there. Meanwhile she hasn't forgotten that west door behind Davroar where chanting had been heard, so she moves into the room with Ryssa but takes aim at that west door, covering Davroar's back. She hides, ready to fire if that door opens and a target is presented.

Luminmorn strikes at the Hobgbolin, but misses. Ryssa prepares a readied Healing spell in case someone is injured while Davroar and Jaliera reposition (3 rounds left for the Sphere).

Sending Whisper to the eastern door the Owl can also hear arguing. It can make out at least two separate voices (which after I wrote it sounds stupid, unless there's a person in there arguing with themselves there would need to be at least two different voices. )

Chandan and Kriv are up.
