THE AUGUST PREVIEW

Welcome to the August Preview!

There will be no new innovations in the August Fabquiz. You will have seen these types of questions, if not the actual questions, before. However, there are some hints, shadings and tweaks that I feel I should tell you about.

I will begin by giving you one ACTUAL question from this quiz. I do this just to forestall what I know will be a tiresome litany of complaints from the Players if I do not show this question, and make the obvious comment.

This is the question:

CIVIL WAR BONUS
It is on record that every Confederate State in the Civil War did this.

Listen to me! There will be NO POINTS given for any answer saying that these states seceded from the Union. We all know that happened! That is NOT THE ANSWER I am looking for! The actual answer relates to the Civil War, but is not all that easy. My MCG will be giving clues in due course. Are we clear?<g>

I have given questions marked "Part I" and "Part II" before, but this quiz will be the first time you will see three Two-Part questions. Knowing that AquaDyne is a former Naval Academy Grad, I made one of the Two Part Questions about the United States Military Academy at West Point, just because I can be mean at times. I wanted to make AquaDyne cross the line into Army affairs, which any Navy Man is hesitant to do.<g> Of course, I did make up for that by throwing in THE UNITED STATES NAVY in the FLOAN BONUS!<G>

Regarding another question, while religious people do not emphasize their military side, there is a certain rank structure existing in the religious orders, and this question bears on that.

The following bits and pieces may or may not help, but they are free! <g>

The question involving a time stamp is valid no matter what time zone you care to specify.
William Howard Taft was never happy as President.
Rick Bosetti was beyond terrible as a baserunner.
Everyone taking the quiz should understand the concept of "cross streets".
Colditz Castle was supposed to be escape-proof.
One man's Acro is another man's insult.

My Bad....

OK....I admit that I made a rather egregious error.

What I meant to say is that AquaDyne is a Former STUDENT at the Naval Academy, and a honored GRADUATE of same.

You know, it's a good thing that I got my Groveling Degree at the Boss and Shylock School of Groveling...I seem to be doing that a lot these days, and most of the time I deserve it!

Let me see if I still have the skills, or if I need to take a refresher course.

AquaDyne,

O most mighty and most powerful and omnipotent Officer and Wizard, this insignificant and most lowly and humble offender would dare to impose himself on your most public and revered mercy and compassion.

If your mighty and most puissant and noble magnificence can but to overlook the careless and slipshod insult I unwittingly committed in my recent Fabquiz Preview, I would consider it an immense and munificent favor. Please know that, if you can but forgive this offense, I would forever sing your praises to all and sundry, and account you the summit of all goodness forever!

Behold, my head is at your feet, and I am but dust!
