"I will take you to her at once", says the Mageguard sentry on the gate as soon as Kolath mentions Gurnyla's name.

The previously manicured lawn in the courtyard at the centre of the academy is now strewn with rubble from the tower Guruinath brought down with artillery fire. Kolath notices blood on the grass. A lot of it.

Kolath sees Gurnyla standing just beyond the rubble in the company of Marlith the librarian, and the Academy's head of security, Rethuis d'n Amatheyr.

Before Gurnyla answers his question, Marlith spots his worst nightmare walking towards him. Hollis.

<Marlith>

He couldn't hope to 'escape' with Gurnyla right here. All he could do was grit his teeth and pretend he did not care.

Kolath

Hollis moving alongside him, Kolath approached Gurnyla where she stood with the librarian and security chief. The legionnaire shook his head slowly at the blood stained courtyard and glanced at Hollis to see how she reacted to the rubble and the gore.

"Looks like they won't have very many soft questions for Guruinath. In fact, I would bet that they are going to want to dance at our wedding when they hear what we have for them," Hollis murmured. "You want me to tell her, or you?"

Hollis signalled a greeting to Guernyla. "My lady," she said, offering up a small bow. "We have excellent news for you, which, considering the damage and injury we see here, should be most welcome."

He couldn't help wondering what =she= would consider 'excellent news'. He knew what he would like to hear, but it was clear that the excellent news was not that this insane woman had fled the city.

He nodded respectfully to Gurnyla and the functionaries with her.

"The news is that the air ship which caused this unfortunate damage has been disabled and the person responsible, Guruinath, is being held in Legionnaire custody."

Well that was something. He had no doubt that woman had been involved. It was probably only luck that there were evil doers on the ship.

Hollis / Keila CHampion

"Guruinath was quick to explain his murderous behavior by casting blame on the Acadermy," Hollis continued smoothly. "The Tavonoleyr here felt it appropriate to offer you a chance to participate in his interrogation. At this point the Legion plans to carry out the interrogation, but after some discussion we felt that you might have several questions you would like addressed."

"It's more than disabled", says Rethuis, the Academy head of security, "More like brought down in a flaming wreck by artillery fire from somewhere".

"So tell us", he continues, "How was he taken into custody, what has he been saying, and what is the Karazthan's position at the moment?".

"The artillery fire was directed from the upper level of Legion Headquarters and..." he paused a moment and shrugged his shoulders.

"I directed the fire. Hollis here," he said, gesturing toward her, "was..." he paused again and changed what he'd started to say. "Hollis secured Guruinath and saw to it that he was brought to Legion Headquarters for interrogation."

"I would say the Karazthan's position at the moment is... awkward to say the least."

Hollis had a thought. "What about the airship? DId it go down? There might be hardware or salvage from it that would help in assessing the Karazthani intentions. Records, weapons, that sort of thing."

He leaned in to Gurnyla, "I saw the wreckage while I was out earlier. It came down across the river. There were fires and I suspect many dead on the ground."

"Maybe we should take a look," Hollis mused. "Gurnyla, do you already have people en route?"

"We haven't go anyone on the scene, no", the senior wizard replies.

"I've ordered some adepts of the Way of Vision to scan the site", says Rethuis, "They report a heavy Karazthan security presence attempting to cordon off the crash site. We've got nobody skilled enough to look inside the wreck from this range; will need to get someone across the river for that".

"I can get someone across the river," Hollis said, after a brief hesitation, "Might have to do it one at a time, if you want a real force over there."

Hopefully he would not be required to accompany the psychotic woman on her search and destroy mission.

"Be easier to use you Way of the World to propel a boat", Gurnyla says, "Be less conspicuous for a start. And if you've got the power to fly, you've got the power to propel a boat with a dozen people in it".

Yeah, but it wouldn't be so conspicuous or provocative that way he thought to himself.

Hollis

"Harder to see one person flying fast and low in the shadows than a boat full of armed legionnaires cruising slow and right out in the open, isn't it?" Hollis asked. "Still, I suppose the crash would legitimately draw the attention of the Legion, so for all any onlookers know, we're supposed to be there.

"Problem is, suppoae the Karazthani decide to go nuts, and turn their weapons on us? I can dodge and hide. A boat full of Legionnaires is a sitting duck."

"The squad will be armed and will defend itself, Little One. The Karazthani would regret such an attack, I assure you."

Hollis flapped her arms wildly. "Listen, if they turn one of those ship's weapons on your little boat, you guys could have triple flamelances and you would still be ashes on the waves. That's my worry. I am not going to lose you this ..."

She stopped, took a breath.

There is a loud pinging noise, which Kolath realises is coming from the Karazthani communication device Lavuyl had given him earlier. Taking the device out of his pocket, he hears the Karazthani director's voice.

"The psi-detector has gone off", he says.

Kolath

He paused, frowning, but after a moment, he nodded.

"I had not thought..." but then the communicator pinged.

"The psi-detector has gone off," he repeated for Hollis' sake.

"Has the source been isolated... located?"
