Achtung Cthulhu Teaser 1:
Darkness enveloped the small town of Saint Sulac, France. Its oppression was only complicated by the steady rain that pattered on the cobblestone streets, forming small rivers that gushed into the sewers. A fierce cold wind howled through the narrow alleys, stirring up leaves and debris. Shadows danced ominously in the faint light that leaked from the shuttered windows.
An air of unease hung over the silent town. Doors and shutters were locked up tight against the storm. Occasional flashes of lightning illuminated the gothic architecture of the old buildings, casting them in a ghostly light. Somewhere, a loose sign creaked eerily in the wind.
The church bell tolled midnight, the ominous sound echoing through the empty streets. A stray cat yowled and disappeared into the darkness. The night seemed alive with foreboding energy as if anything could emerge from the shadows at any moment.
Overall, an unsettling scene full of imagery evoking mystery, gloom, and a subtle sense of lurking danger on this dark rainy night in the small French town.
The night was interrupted by the staccato of engines getting louder as a German assault force rolled into the small town. One Kübelwagen at the front of the column of vehicles pulled to a stop, and out stepped a pale man with a drastic visage. He stepped quickly to a door that opened before him. Inside, another German commander reacted with surprise.
“Master Stöller, the man exclaimed!” It looked as if he might ask why the man had appeared in the middle of the night in this small village so far from the front lines.
Stöller stepped inside, and the door closed.
