Episide 6 comes out tomorrow on Disney.

This is one of the more creative Marvel productions. I was so confused until the last episode. Note that you might remain confused if you haven't seen Avengers Endgame.

Have any of you watched any of this?

No. There are too many pay services to subscribe to them all, and Disney, CBS All Access, etc are not among those I pay for. Am hoping to eventually see it on free TV like CBS just did with Star Trek Discovery.

I am with Zeim. I already subscribe to Netflix, Amazon Prime, CBS All Access and HBOMax. That is more than enough.
Posted By: Zeim Re: WandaVision - Thu 11/02/21 15:23 UTC
Yeah, that's even more than me, Ken. I subscribe to Netflix and one of my sons subscribes to Prime. We share those subscriptions among the family but that is it. One of my sons subscribed to HBO during the GoT run, but after it ended that was dropped.

I've read good things about WandaVision, including stuff that would be considered spoilers considering the events in Infinity War and End Game. I do hope to see it someday.

I do the amazon one because I get free shipping from Amazon so that pays for the subscription

I actually wanted to do an analysis to see whether it was cost effective to give up cable completely and purchase only pay services, like Hulu or Hulu plus for regular TV, then CBS All Access, Disney, etc to go with the Netflix and Prime apps I already have. Never got around to doing the grunt work.

we are very close to doing this ourselves- we have directv

and...
hulu basic
disney+
cbs all access (soon to be paramount+)
netflix
prime

we got 3 yrs of disney at launch
wife is thinking about discovery+ as well

so, dumping directv and adding tv channels to hulu seems to work in our favor (since all the others are already in the equation as it is- the upgraded hulu will also come with cloud storage so we can record episodes(hulu doesn't have contracts to show streams of all the channels they can offer live streaming for)

we are simply watching less and less regular tv as it is

FWIW, I have not watched 'TV' for years!! I find plenty to watch with NetFlix <g>

I think 'the boss' does some of the 'cable' channels, but could not tell you which ones <shrug>

and if you wanted to wander down memory lane- sometimes not that long ago and all the way back to the golden age of tv- well there are a couple of great apps that run commercials- less than half of current tv- IMDB app for movies and TV and Tubi(requires a profile be set up but it's otherwise free).

wife is currently watching Bewitched from beginning to end- she recently watch several seasons of I dream of jeanie... I watched acouple australian shows that i liked well enough.

I have Disney for Star Wars and Marvel. Also Netflix and Amazon.

I used to have Hulu. Then, one day, my wife points to our credit card bill and our Hulu fee went up dramatically. Cutting to the chase, apparently I had somehow been hacked and there were over 1000 different places where my account information was being used, meaning that over 1000 people were using my stolen credentials.

But one idiot had decided to "upgrade" my service which alerted me to this. I, of course got it straightened out right away, with no problem from Hulu, and cancelled my subscription, leaving the masses without access to Hulu. I kinda felt good about that!

Good for you. I watch very little regular TV, other than Sports, Sportscenter, reruns of Big Bang Theory, and some History Channel/Discovery Channel stuff. I actually don't watch Netflix/Prime that much unless there's nothing else for me to watch and I browse for a movie.

Wife loves ALL of the Judge Shows, 90 Day Fiancé, Dateline, 20/20, and a bunch of Prime Time TV series and Reality Shows. So it's mostly for her as I could probably get a sports package and a couple of Hulu channels and be fine.

Zeim,

I dropped cable years ago and never looked back.

I subscribe to Amazon, Netflix, and Disney+. CW and IMDB are *free* and I love that, so I use those too. Any other shows that I want to watch that is not covered by one of those services, I just buy the season on Amazon... there have only been a handful of them. And it is still cheaper than paying for Cable.

I admit I have Hulu thanks to a friend, and they use my Netlflix.

Of the services I use... I think Disney would be up there on the keep side if I did any pruning. The amount of movies and shows on there is amazing.

A family member uses a VPN to get even more out of the services he uses.

Now about WANDAVISION.... Love the show! I had a feeling of where it was going from the first part of it because it has some similarities with the House of M series that Marvel did a while back.

Loving the show, a lot more than I thought I would. Totally recommend it!

I don't drop cable because of sports and because my wife who also loves all of those "Judge Shows, 90 Day Fiancé, Dateline, 20/20, and a bunch of Prime Time TV series and Reality Shows".

Additionally, when she does want to watch something on cable, she needs to call me, tech support, to tune in.

For me, certain things are just easier and more available on cable. Local sports is one of those things.

And Mina, I have to say I was scratching my head for 4 episodes! That 5th episode tied it together!
Posted By: Mina Re: WandaVision - Thu 11/02/21 23:12 UTC
Neptune, lol... sports? People watch... sports? I agree though, the 5th episode really ties it together.

SPOILERS
However, I think that Wanda might not be the 'big bad' of the show, again, comic book information about a few things (like where the twins really came from in the comics). I could be wrong, but I think she has been manipulated a bit.

I am insanely into sports, to a degree that few can imagine. A personal factoid: I've attended 3 World Series games where my team, the NY Yankees, walked off the field that day as champions. I slept outside, in the street for 2 nights to buy a ticket for the first of those. It was this game: The first time I saw my team win a championship game

Re: spoiler,
I agree. It was hinted at by Rambeau wjem she argued with Hayward about Wanda.

Big NY Yankees fan? Nice... personally though, I have never been able to get into soccer. Kidding, I know they are a football team.

And... my family in NYC would be disappointed I was joking about their team smile

LOL!

So Episode Seven confirms many fan theories about the show! WOO! It's getting really good!
Posted By: nem Re: WandaVision - Sun 21/02/21 19:07 UTC
I was enjoying it but the premise is starting to wear thin on me now.
Posted By: Mina Re: WandaVision - Sun 21/02/21 19:34 UTC
Nem,

Sorry to hear that. I can see how they are using this to set up the next Spider-Man movie and Doctor Strange afterwards though... and some hints from the LOKI series coming up. And though expected, I thought that the latest episode has become a game-changer smile

Quite exciting, yes. Like you said Mina, not completely unexpected but I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode. I wish they weren't so short.
