Let's go down the checklist:

Cheesy Science. Check.
Cheesy Science Fiction. Check.
Cheesy Melodrama. Check.
Cheesy Twenty-First Century Semi-Dysfunctional Family. Check

Now I don't know which is more cheesy - stereotypical 1960s TV family or Simpsons-descended dysfunctional modern TV family (you know, dysfunctional but underneath everyone cares for each other). Both have high level of cheese factors.

Cheesy Robots. Check.
Cheesy Alien War Robots ... okay, that's new.
Cheesy Alien War Robot and Cheesy Catch Phrase. Check.
Cheesy Comic Relief Villain ... wait. Is this villain actually despicable and kind of good at it?

The new Doctor Smith has - at the least - an intriguing start. And unless they ruin her as the show develops, Penny Robinson rocks.

The lactose intolerant may want to stay away from this show. But those of us who appreciate a bit of cheese every now and then (You know, the same group of folks who like 'Ice Pirates') might find the new Lost in Space one of those shows you don't admit to watching but do.

On the good side, the 'story' is =way= different, but having said that, I wish that they had not decided to drag all the old 'baggage' from the previous shows into this one ... not doing that might have reduced the cheese content some <wink>

We watched the first three episodes.

While I liked it, so far not as much charm as the original- but that just might be nostalgia factor.

Actually, I can't help but think it =might= have been better if they had =not= weighed this new series down with the baggage/expectations from the other shows ... especially because the 'story line' is so different ... by giving it a name ... different character names.

Being kinda vague to avoid spoilers ... for now <g>

Well since they bought the rights for a huge amount, that using the old characters and such would be their aim.

Doesn't make it right <wink>
