Again, not a movie - but neither was Galavant so I feel almost safe posting it here.

Anyone watching Backstrom? I caught a few episodes.

While there's some interesting twists, it seems a mostly rehashed detective-on-the-rocks-but-really-a-decent-guy story. The supporting characters are pretty good, and I've found some humorous lines.

Has anyone read the books the show is based on?

I tried watching the first episode but it just didn't grab me. With so many other good series out there, I will wait for this one to come on Netflix in the future.
