A classic from 1968 which I'm sure many of you will know.

Always like it when I write a review, mention what I think is a strong influence, and get a response from the artist saying "You nailed it".

Arthur Brown! That's a memory. Actually have this song on my MP3 player. He actually preceeded Alice Cooper by a year with his unique style, though Cooper really popularized it. Brown's definitely one of a kind!

I was playing the album this afternoon - the whole thing is fantastically bonkers. There's a great cover of Screaming Jay Hawkins' "I Put A Spell On You".

He's still around on the festival circuit, and by all reports he's still got it. Sadly Vincent Crane (the keyboard player) is no longer with us.
