This is an author I discovered this year. She is British & a crime writer. There are a number of books, all unrelated as stories but best read in order as characters crop up throughout the novels sometimes in minor, sometimes major roles.
And her first book Sacrifice is being taken up by Hollywood!

Connie Nielsen, Charles Dance and Rupert Graves are to star in the Hollywood film adaptation of SACRIFICE, the debut thriller by British author, S J Bolton.
The full cast will include Cary Elwes, James Cosmo and Rachel Oliva.
Peter A Dowling will direct.
