EDITORIAL

This is an editorial with a difference.

As you all know we have struggled over the last few months to continue to produce DreamScribe and the magazine has gradually been dwindling in size and content as a result, so this will be the last issue - but not the last of at least some of the content!

We do have plans to continue the more popular aspects of the magazine by reorganising the first two areas of the DreamLyrics board into a Members Section and a Site News/Admin Section. Then some additional forums will be added to allow some of the previous DreamScribe features to continue.

We feel that in this way we reduce the workload as there will be not need for HTML etc. We also allow members direct access for comment & feedback and also a place to contribute articles & features of their own. In addition there will be no deadlines to keep to.

We also hope that DreamScribe will remain as is so that you can continue to access the articles, reviews and features as a useful resource.

You are probably wondering what items will stay, at least on a regular basis. We cannot confirm on all of these just now but I can tell you which ones have been agreed. These are as follows:

- Lurkers Log - to be a member contribution feature in the Site News Area

- Articles - to be a member contribution feature in the Member Area

- Game Spotlight - to be superseded by Lurker's Log

- Member Spotlight - to be a member contribution feature in the Member Area with a revised template

- Coffee Talk - to be a member contribution feature in the Site News Area and it is hoped that Jim Z, Mackey & others will still contribute regularly

- New Member Welcome - will be initiated by sysops in a different way in the Member Area

- Caption Competition - will still be posted by me on a regular basis in the Member Area with members able to post their captions directly

- Member Survey - to be a member contribution feature in the Member Area

- Site Stats - will still be posted by J-J as a regular feature in the Site News Area

- Coming Attractions - to be a member contribution feature in the Member Area and it is hoped that J-J will still contribute regularly

- RPTips - I will post the links regularly to the original material as it is published in Member Area

- Games System Overview - - to be a member contribution feature in the Member Area

- Board Game Overview - to be a member contribution feature in the Member Area and it is hoped that Alduin will still contribute regularly

- Computer Game Overview - to be a member contribution feature in the Member Area

- Convention News, Announcements & Reviews - to be a member contribution feature in the Member Area


The following will not be continued:

My last task before signing off is to give a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way to DreamScribe over the years, in particular Amadan, Abaddon & Andy Montgomery for their regular contributions. I hope they still contribute on DreamLyrics.

We started the zine in Oct 2001 and have continued for over three years. So, saving the best until last, I would also like to thank the editors and editorial staff, past and present for their excellent work and steadfast loyalty, singling out J-J Vomact, Alduin, Blaze, Drew, Argus, Ilyanna & Linda in particular. The dedication of these people in particular is the reason that DreamScribe has gone out on time, regularly and of a good quality over the years. Take a hefty pat on the back, you really do deserve it! Thank you! In fact have a banana!
